Are you looking for a new look to your smile? Are your teeth
in good health, but just a little crooked, chipped, discolored,
of uneven sizes or lengths or with gaps?
Veneer restorations can drastically improve your smile by
correcting any, or all of these problems. Many people are
good candidates for veneers, but sometimes they wrongly assume
that braces are their only option for correcting certain problems.
By attaching a thin layer of porcelain over your existing
teeth in the size, shape and color designated by you and the
doctor, you can have the smile that you desire in just a few
short appointments.
A mirror was
placed while taking this photo to show the backside of
the teeth
as well as the front. This accounts for the apparent lack
of bottom teeth. |

Dr. Rivas is among a very small percentage of
doctors in the world to use X-rite,
a computerized color matching technology system released in
early 2002, which takes the guesswork out of matching tooth
colors. Until very recently, dentists all relied exclusively
on their eyes and experience to get a correct match. Unfortunately,
because of age, eye fatigue, or inconsistent lighting conditions,
color is easily distorted in a phenomenon called metamerism
and a restoration can be made in the wrong color leaving your
expectations unmet.
A special photograph is taken of the tooth to
be matched with an integrated color-corrected light source
and digital camera. The image is downloaded and analyzed by
a computer program, which accurately measures the hue, chroma,
and value of the tooth and maps the information on a grid
of the photograph. This invaluable and previously unavailable
information is then communicated to the ceramist fabricating
the restoration allowing for a guess-free, precise match.
